11:27 마르다가 예수님께 말씀드렸다. ``예 주님, 나는 주님께서 세상에 다시 오실 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들이신 것을 믿었습니다.``

28 마르다가 이말을 하고 돌아가 자기 여동생 마리아를 살며시 불러 ``선생님께서 오셔서 너를 부르신다`` 라고 하니

29 마리아가 이말을 듣고 급히 일어나 예수님께로 갔다.

30 그때에 예수님은 아직 마을로 들어오지 않으시고 마르다가 마중나왔던 곳에 그대로 계셨다

31 집에서 마리아와 함께 있으면서 그녀를 위로해 주던 유대인들은 마리아가 급히 일어나서 나가는 것을 보고, 무덤에 가서 울려는 줄로 생각하고 그녀를 따라갔다.

주님은 마르다에게 `나는 부활이요 생명이니` 라고 말씀하시면서 그녀에게 `그대가 이것을 믿습니까?` 라고 물으셨다. 그녀는 `예 주님, 나는 주님께서 세상에 오실 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들이신 것을 믿었습니다` 라고 대답했다. 마르다의 답변은 주님의 질문에 대한 답이 아니었다. 그녀를 사로잡고 있었던 낡은 지식때문에, 그녀는 가려져서 주님의말씀을 이해할수 없었다

Into His chosen, predestinated, and redeemed people

God’s eternal economy

Is to make man the same as He is

In life and nature but not in the Godhead

That all His divine attributes

May be expressed in human virtues.

God’s economy and goal

According to His heart’s desire

Are to build Himself into our being

And to build us into His being

In order to mingle His divinity with our humanity

Into one entity (one entity)—

The Body of Christ,

Which consummates the New Jerusalem,

Which consummates the New Jerusalem.
