20:13 우리는 먼저 배를 타고 앗소로 항해하여 거기서 바울을 태울 생각이었다. 왜냐하면 바울자신이 걸어서 갈 생각을 하고 그렇게 계획을 해 두었기 때문이다.

14 바울이 앗소에서 우리를 만났을때, 우리는 그를 배에 태우고 미둘레네로 갔다.

15 우리는 거기서 배를 타고 떠나, 이튿날 기오 맞은편에 도착하였고, 다음날 사모에 들렀다가, 그 다음날 밀레도로 갔다.

16 왜냐하면 바울이 아시아에서는 지체하지 않으려고 에베소를 지나쳐 항해하기로 이미 결정했기 때문이다. 가능하면 오순절날에 예루살렘에 도착하려고 서둘렀던 것이다.

바울이 서두른 이유는 아마 이날에 다른 여러 나라들에서 예루살렘에 오는 많은 사람을 만나기 위해서였을 것이다.

Once I tried to use Him,

  Now He uses me;

Once the pow’r I wanted,

  Now the Mighty One;

Once for self I labored,

  Now for Him alone.

Once I hoped in Jesus,

Once my lamps were dying,

  Now they brightly shine;

Once for death I waited,

  Now His coming hail;

And my hopes are anchored

  Safe within the veil.
