16:5 이제 나는 나를 보내신 분께로 가는데, 여러분중에 아무도 나에게 어디로 가느냐고 묻는 사람이 없고,

6 오리려 내가 여러분에게 이러한 말을 하였기 때문에 여러분의 마음이 슬픔이 가득찼습니다.

7 그러나 내가 여러분에게 진실을 말하는데, 내가 떠나가는 것이 여러분에게 유익합니다. 내가 떠나가지 않으면 보혜사께서 여러분에게로 오지 않으실 것이나, 내가 가면 그분을 여러분에게 보낼 것입니다.

이 `가는것`은 최종적으로 요한복음 20장 17절에서 그분의 승천으로 이루어졌다.

  This divine romance

Is My heart’s deep plan,

I became a lowly man

To court My country girl.

  Nothing could deter,

Nothing can alter

My eternal love for her;

I’ll gain My country girl.

As King of kings You became a man,

You died for me—I’ve been redeemed,

In resurrection made us queen

To marry You, my King.

From death You ’rose and entered me,

I now possess Your divinity;

In life and nature we’re the same:

Both human and divine.

  In Your love I’m drawn,

To You I belong;

I am not my own, Lord,

I’m Yours alone.

  By Your love I’m drawn,

In Your name I’m charmed,

And Your Person captured me,

For I’ve been kissed by Thee.

Lord, in this close sweet fellowship,

A sweet relationship.

Lord, daily change my inward being

To be Your bride and queen.
